Hear From the TAP™ Graduates

The TAP was a great preparation in helping me find my feet as a young teacher. It allowed me to learn from my colleagues, and afforded me time and space to develop my own teaching style.

Brandon Lye, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology, NTU

The TAP™ exposed me to teaching styles that truly value a child's learning. Through the apprenticeship, I had the chance to learn from more experienced teachers, while also receiving hands-on experience teaching students within the classroom. This has allowed me to perfect my own teaching style.

Ju Lyn Tay, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature, NTU

The programme helped me reflect on myself and strive towards becoming a better person. It also opened my eyes to the world of teaching. I never expected an apprenticeship to help me not only professionally but personally too!

Grace Chan, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature, NTU

The TAP really helped to ease me into the teaching profession. It made the transition from being a student to a working professional less intimidating. The guidance and feedback that I received throughout the training period motivated me to keep doing my best and to constantly work on improving myself.

Aishah Sudinshah, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies, NTU

I really enjoyed myself during the Apprenticeship Programme because of the committed and friendly instructors, like-minded peers dedicated to becoming the best teachers they could be, and the positive and innovative methodologies imparted.

What I learned during the TAP has helped me to become not only a better teacher but also a better communicator to those around me. If you want to teach writing but have no experience in teaching whatsoever, this is definitely the best place to start.

Lee Min Yee, Bachelor of Law, SMU

I found the TAP™ to be insightful and deeply informative. I’ve learnt a lot from the intensive training sessions that were earnestly conducted, and was impressed by the scope of the coverage that prepared us for the classroom. I would recommend anyone considering a career in teaching English to join TWC via this programme.

Vikki Loh, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy, NUS

The TAPwas a valuable opportunity that allowed us to focus on building ourselves up as teachers. It has shaped the way I teach and interact with my students positively and purposefully.

Hannah Chee, Bachelor of Arts with Merit in English Literature, NUS

The TAP has allowed me to interact with a broad range of individuals who have expanded my perspectives on pedagogy and, more importantly, developed my interpersonal skills. The three months I spent in the programme have opened my eyes to the way a company’s values can be clearly espoused in its practices. I believe that, for aspiring applicants, there is no good substitute for this uniquely immersive programme. I say this because I am now thoroughly prepared to face the challenges of working in this dynamic and fast-growing company.

Hisyam Nasser, Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, University of York

The TAP addressed some common misconceptions about teaching, and showed me how to help a student achieve grade jumps in a short amount of time. I was sceptical at first, but putting the TWC method into action really helped my students make tremendous progress and gain much confidence and interest in writing! The Apprenticeship Programme invaluably increased my skills as an English teacher, and helped me develop a sharp eye in strategising for students’ success.
